2.6.8-2-686 and Laptop problems.

Hey guys, I have a older laptop P3 600. I currently have the 2.4 kernel running perfect on here. I upgraded to the 2.6.8 kernel and my touch pad works but it will not reconigize when I try to select items or double click. Also it is not loading my pcmcia devices. I have a 10/100 pcmcia nic which it will not reconigize nor load on bootup. I have been looking around to try and figure this out but haven't had any luck if someone could help me out or give me some pointers...Thanks!

I installed a new 2.6.17 kernel, and a new pci.ids file on my (younger) Amiga-Pro laptop. Now my Linksys pcmcia NIC works great.
