Hi
I've just installed a "new" kernel ( 2.4.18 ! ) + kernel headers on Debian-woody based DSL 3.4, as I need the sources to compile some software (the kernel source from MyDSL didn't work by the way).
However, when I try to boot up, I get this error:
Quote:
Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel
Unknown bridge resource 0: assuming transport
Unknown bridge resource 1: assuming transport
Unknown bridge resource 2: assuming transport
Unknown bridge resource 2: assuming transport
mount: Usage: mount [-t filesystemtype] [-o options,...] device mountpoint
This is a builtin command. /etc/fstab and /etc/mtab are NOT supported.
cat: No file proc/sys/kernel/real-root-dev.
/linuxrc: cannot create proc/sys/kernel/real-root-dev: directory nonexistent
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:04

Here is the relevant section of my grub menu.lst:
Quote:
title DSL_3.4
root (hd0,3)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18-386 root=/dev/hda4 quiet vga=normal dma secure
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.4.18-386

Can anyone help me fix this?
Thanks
