[Debian stable] Setting the time

Hello,
on my newly installed Debian system I don't seem to be able to set the correct time. The clock is always running ahead one hour. I try to set the correct time by clicking on the clock applet on the Gnome panel, I'm able to change the time, but when I reboot it looses the configuration and changes to a wrong time (one hour ahead). The time zone is set to my time zone and the bios clock is in line with that. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

hwclock should be able to help. can't remember if you should do hwclock --systohc or --hctosys, check out the man pages.
