What version of WINE should i use on DSL?
(Wine is that program that lets you use windows programs)

Um, just get the latest one.

There are a bunch of linux versions. But i just learned Knoppix is debian based, and DSL is based on knoppix.

I meant that you should get the latest version of WINE (that's what you were asking, wasn't it?).

No. There was a debian, redhat, i think gentoo, and some other versions.

Does DSL use RPMs? If so, use the Red Hat ones. Otherwise, using a Slackware package (just untar it in the root directory) or building from source would be the best.

it probably can use rpm with aliens help.dsl is debian based so look for wine deb

DSL is a Debian based system so you will use the Debian 'version' installed with Debian's apt-get package management system.
If you have not yet installed anything, first check out how to use apt-get.

Thanks! Although, i am worried, because last i checked, debian was unstable. But so is Win XP, so i guess i wont notice any diffrence:)

"Debian unstable" doesn't mean what it sounds. There are several 'flavours' of debian (yes they used to actually call them that) which are stable, testing, unstable & experimental. The Linux world is constantly being updated, as new application versions are released,Debian first accepts them into experimental. Once it has been proven that they actually work, they are accepted into unstable, then testing and finally into stable. To get into stable they have to have been operating for some time (several months) without any reported bugs. This makes a Debian stable system very stable indeed and also somewhat out of date.
Most applications in the unstable repository are actually very bug-free.
