USB Making my linux DSL Freeze?

Ok..im just downloaded and burned the DSL into a cd and when i restart my computer i boot thru that cd and i get an option saying that i can select F2 or F3 to change the boot settings. The problem is when i click enter, a command would start and it would say detecting USB device and after that it would just freeze there. I waited for about 30 minutes but it still freezes. When i press F3 and type the command for no detection of hardware it would boot perfectly but i cant use my mouse and keyboard since both of them are USB based. So what do i do? am really interested to try DSL since im getting fed up with windows. Btw im using AN cer aspire Pc.. and there is no other USB connected device to my Pc other than the USB mouse and keyboard. Cheers..
