Removing non-essential programs from DSL

I want to super-streamline my DSL, like getting rid of flwriter, siag, beaver etc and i was wondering how i would go about removing them. Anyone able to help me?

I too am wondering if there is a good way to uninstall programs. For example, I installed QCad, but do not have enough memory to run it effectively, I'd like to just uninstall. Hopefully, DSL has some utility for this. I suppose you could just get the package and unzip it in the /tmp drive and see what files it creates, then delete them. The problem is that there are relevant entries in text files - like menus and icons.

BTW - does anybody know how to selectively remove icons from the desktop. I know you can switch all of them off, but I just want to get rid of a few.

Thanks,
HD
