NTFS support on DSL

Hey there,

Does DSL support any read/write to NTFS drives by default?

Here is what is new for 0.5.1..

Added .bash_profile for user control of startup programs. Both LiveCD (with restore option) and hard drive installed users will benefit
Improved system architecture and hard-drive install scripts to allow for a more traditional multi-user installation. Each added user's environment is like the LiveCD's damnsmall user. User damnsmall can now be removed

updated fluxbox

scite in place of nedit (size issue)

mformat (needed to take advantage of the restore script use with floppy)

modified install script to work with low ram systems

lprng/gs/apsfilter** for broad printer support(including all the great
ghostscript utilities)
NTFS read made to work with user damnsmall
as of the write support, thats just unstable and not a smart idea to do so....but apparently according to DSL release notes it is supported..

Actually, as of kernel-2.6.0, Write-Support for the NTFS File-system is no longer labelled "EXPERIMENTAL".

Aside from that, you can use the ntfs.sys file from a windows distrobution to get r/w support in ntfs.

There are apparently ways documented online that explain how to keep ntfs.sys on a floppy, and setup r/w support for ntfs for Knoppix. DSL is Knoppix-based, so Im assuming it would be similar.

I havent personally seen these documents, but they're out there... :-)

Chill.
