No device

After the installation of damnsmall i can't get to the internet at all. while running from the live cd i can ping and browse the internet. installed to hd and now when i ping i get unknown nameserver, ifconfig comes back with no device found. netcardconfig comes back with unknown device. lnsmod 8139too does not really give much usefull info. has anyone run into this and how did you fix this.

did you try lsmod to see is the module loaded?
if it is u need to raise the card
ifconfig eth0 your.I.P.address up
if the module is not loaded, try to load it with:
/sbin/modprobe 8139too
