myDSL pops open a bunch of extension download windows AND how do i keep my extensions

Hey!
Why is it that when I open MyDSL and choose ANY of the options, a windows opens to download one extension or another, even if I've not chosen it? And when I hit [Cancel] another opens, [cancel] and another opens, till I've gone through 5 or 10 and no more pop open?

Also, once I've installed/downloaded an extension and it asks where to keep it, /tmp is the default. How do I keep these extensions (on an installed system)? Just change the destination /tmp to... /home/user maybe?

I followed these instructions for installing DSL on a USB drive for use in Windows and its great fun. Thanks blog-author and DSL team!

saving extentions on a DSL usb drive

I experienced the same issues when I was playing with my DSL bootable pen drive. What I ended up doing was saving them to hdb. The reason why you can save them is because your home directory /home/dsl is actually on a ram disk and can not store data permantly. You have to mount up hdb which is the remainding space on your pen drive, then save those extentions in there. I did this and was able to save them. The only problem I had was that the DSL menus and icons where all missing for the programs I downloaded from MyDSL. Anyone know how I can keep these programs installed onto hdb and not into the ram disk. I tried setting the path differently when I install them but no dice!
