I also am haveing a annoying issue with the cdrom drive during start up I get an error for the drive illgal request I have not been able to get files of any kind off a cd I did some work on that on my own too the result is I know some new commands yea side note I just look over the other threads on this subject the command listed did not work. |
I am about a year out of date on DSL (I've used 2.4). On the versions I've used it did not provide a local copy of man pages because of the premium on space. However if you typed man xxxx, it would attempt to connect to the Internet to display the man page using a text based browser such as links. (IIRC, the browser they used changed between 1.0 and 2.4. The details of what they do may have changed again, but I suspect it is the same idea.)

Man pages. Damn small
well that sounds good but this laptop was connected while I was in the update process and needed the manual pages .... like I said the shell shut down after trying
is there some kind of configuration or do I need to specify to connect to the web for a man page OR can I set some thing up to add MAN pages to damn small? I would be completely willing to try that! |
