Frugal Install : Saving desktop configs. such as wallpaper - which method is best ?

Just been messing about with DSL for the first time so please forgive me for constantly annoying everyone ! I have "installed" DSL via the Frugal method.
I've had a good read of the DSL wiki and was wondering which method for saving desktop configurations is most applicable to wallpaper changes ?
I was under the assumption that "backup/restore" saves my /home/dsl directory, any graphics files I have in home/dsl/.fluxbox/backgrounds and all config files in /home/dsl ? When I use the restore= cheat code on boot up my wallpaper changes are not saved. Is it more appropriate to use the "Persistence" method instead as I do want to avoid going through all the hassle of changing the default wallpaper ?

Cheers,
Uncle

I am about a year out of date on DSL (familiar with 2.4) and I am not sure what the persistence method is. But if nothing has changed, you should be able to change what is saved (and subsequently restored!) with the file /home/dsl/.filetool.lst (note the first dot in its name, denoting it is a hidden file). The files and directories listed in this file are simply passed to tar at shutdown to create backup.tar.gz. You can modify this file to your hearts content, but make sure you do not remove the entry for .filetool.lst itself. If you do, you will go back to the default .filetool.lst at the next boot!
