Question DSL on a Pen Drive with home data

I have recently begun using DSL and finally installed it on a small pen drive that I purchased. I am delighted with both. However, it would be very useful to me to be able to carry around not only DSL on my pen drive but also the data that I have on my home partition on my computer. Is there any way that I can copy this directory over to my pen drive and access it from within a live distro of DSL? I have the data on my pen drive already, but when I try to read it by using the "ls" command I do not see anything. Can I somehow get around this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Runa

Try mounting the pen drive partition that the files are on. Dsl runs from ram and uses ramdisk as the root file system on a fugal install.

OK, I did that and I successfully mounted the partition, but am getting a "permission denied" error when I try to cd to the directory. Any ideas?
