I got DSL 0.4.10 on a live cd and the only time it actually boots is when i use it on Sun Virtualbox's virtual machine. When i try to boot it from my computer at home(f12, then boot from CD drive) or at school(same process) it doesn't come out right. The screen stays black at home and the computer didn't go past "Looking for CDROM in: /dev/scd0 " Does anyone know anything about this issue or know where to go
no but on your home computer instead of F12 trying changing the bios itself to boot order optical drive before hard drive and see if you get the same result.
Also, on your home computer...is the optical drive a ide (wide ribbon) or sata cable?
And if wide ribbon is it jumpered as a slave or as a master?
I seem to recall from my older bios computer...the optical drive had to be master on first controller....and hard drive was master on second controller YMMV
I just installed DSL on an older Toshiba Tecra, with 64MB RAM. It works, but hasn't found the internet yet. Now I'd like to install the new ELIVE on it, since the ELIVE desktop looks like MacIntosh, and it seems to have an Updating feature in it. It seems like a TINY CORE linux with a MacIntosh desktop. However, I haven't figured out how to install it to the hard disk yet.
