I've got an old Compaq Armada 1750 w/ 64MB RAM that i want to use for internet browsing. DSL works very well, but I cannot get the ACX-111 wireless-g card to work (its a "trendnet 421" pcmcia card based on the TI ACX-111 chipset). I've been everywhere looking for help on this.

NDISWrapper loads the drivers/modules but doesn't actually work, nor do any of the items in the DSL configuration box.

I can get this card to work with Mepis 3.4.3 (other computer) but Mepis is too big for this machine.

I've also gotten the card to work with these Linux Kernel 2.6 instructions under other Debian-based distros, but DSL is L2.4 and that starts to get beyond my expertise...

Has anyone had success with an ACX-111 card and DSL? Encryption would be essential...

I have used ndiswrapper with dsl before with no problem - dlink card with acx-111 chipset, although system freezes after a few minutes in the latest release of dsl. Dont know what the problem is yet.
