Configure/modify/dismantle DSL

I have DSL embedded on my usb thumbstick (installed it just now at school and typing to you from it) and im going to go home and install it on my usb drive as a bootable usb hd.

my question is for both embedded and bootable usb pen:

is it possible to maybe remove dillo, xpaint or any other programs? and maybe replace them with other things? like can i install gimp onto my usb drive and when i run it in windows have gimp available? can i have it so when i boot up from the usb drive i have gtk-gnutella installed? or even just have a different wallpaper or theme installed when i boot from either?

thanks guys, this is freagin awesome.

I believe all you need to do is enable the apt repositories and you should have access to Debian's apt-get repositories for adding and removing software.

perhaps that can help - it explains how to save things - i think if you do 'backup' when running from pen drive, it saves the state of everything...
