Can not install DSL

I'm attempting a DamnSmallLinux install on an old tower. The hardware is nearly ten years old - 200Mhz, 32MB RAM and I think 2GB of Hard disk space.

I've created a bootable installation CD for DSL using version 2.4. The DSL Boot disks loads up properly and at the command prompt I specify "install". I select option 3 - Install to hard drive. It says that prior to installation that a linux partition of 200MB must be created. At this point I'm hoping the DSL will do it for me. Then it asks me to specify the partition. I specify hda1 and proceed with the installation. The hard drive has 2GB of space but the installation didn't work.

During installation I saw many errors like, "Cannot open: No such file or directory", " No space left on device"

It says the installation is finished. Then it asks me if I want to set up the boot loader. I specify yes and specify Grub. I see more error messages etc...( I can capture these and post them if they would be helpful - But the general gist seems to be that there is not enough space - Even with 2GB? )

Anyhow I had all these errors... I specify to restart, remove CD, machine restarts, and I never see the bootloader.

I think maybe I need to create a linux partition and that DSL won't do it...How do I do that with no usable operating system on the machine? Is there anything else I need to do to install DSL on the machine?

Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it.

ETA -

I found this --> http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/dsl-hd-install.html
And I'm going to create the partition using the DSL OS that is running from the CD ROM - I forgot I could do that. I'll try this...

ETA -
So I've run cfdisk using the LiveCD

sudo cfdisk /dev/hda

And I can see from the result that there are three? partitions.

hda1 Boot Primary Linux ext2 103.22MB
hda2 Primary Linux swap 66.07MB
hda3 Primary Linux ext3 2390.56MB

Okay it looks like it's set up. So I will attempt to install to hard disk again and this time I will specify hda3 as the target partition when I'm prompted.

ETA - It worked !! Now I need to properly set up my screen resolution information because the startup page is so big I can't close it. I can't shutdown Dillo because the browser is outside the screen..

Fixed it. I'm in. It looks like I've got it installed.

Cool.
