SoundBlaster Live problems

FIrst let me say this. I decided to try COnectiva after I heard that my favorite Distro, Mandrake, bought it. I decided since I was going to re-install Mandrake that maybe I would give this one a try instead. Well from what I have seen so far it is not only great but it has a lot more to offer, so far, then I imagined. First I have an NVIDIA card. Usually, and easily anough, I have to install the driver myself. Well not with Conectiva. It picks it up right away. I haven't tried any games, like Wolfenstein Enemy Terroriory or Doom 3 yet but I am sure I will have no problems.

Now with the great way it picks up my hardware I now have this problem. It is funny in a sense. I have a soundblaster Live card. Now with any Linux distro I used I had a hard time seting it up so it would be in surround sound 5.1. So I no longer use that. I no longer have the 5.1 speakers. I have the standard two speakers. Now here is the problem. Conectiva has it all set up for surround sound 5.1 and the speakers are so low that I can barly hear them. I checked the volumes, pcm and so on. kmix is loaded. all the basic simple stuff has been checked. So what I need to do is get this so it only uses two speakers. How do I do this?

Also every single distro i have tried has no problem with setting it up with the two speakers, but I did have the problem of setting up 5.1. Also if I plug the speakers into different spots on the card then it works louder but is lacking. Also if I do this then I have to change it back eachtime I run Windows, which I still need for now, and other Linux os'including live cd's.

Conectiva is maybe to good???? LOL

Thanks

You maybe able to adjust the speaker settings in the Conectiva Control Center.

The Conectiva Control Center is located under mysettings on the task bar.

Click on the Multimedia Icon, then the Hardware Icon.

In the hardware section it has nothing for sound just scanners and cameras, printers, keyboards and mouse, video and monitors . I tried the sound and multimedia section and there is nothing there, at least nothing I can see.
