Smile quick questions on cl9

will it be 'powered by United linux'?

is it beign developed by the same group of programmers asigned to the United Linux proyect?

will it have any 'Conectiva's own' config tools like seen on other distros (mdk and bastille for example or suse and yast2 to name two)?

will non brazilian residents be able to buy it through http://www.ciadosoftware.com.br/conectiva/ ?

and most important question:
will the boxed version include MORE than ONLY one sticker and something like a canvas patch or a case plate (take a look: http://store.slackware.com/cgi-bin/s...EdCoA&mv_pc=98 pretty cool...) or a key chain ( hint hint !!: this is were a boxed distro can make a difference !!) ?

more questions to come soon

see ya !

Re: Re: quick questions on cl9

thanks for the answers vlad !!!!

now i have a few more quick questions :

does that mean that it will be based on UL but customers will not see the "powered by UL" logo on the box beacuse it is reserved to be used only on CLEE?

will cl9 include any soft protected under the YAST2 license?

will it be cl9 or cl 8.1?

will cl9 (or 8.1) include some kind of "friendlier" gpl linuxconf GUI designed by Conectiva (hint !)?

will the installation tool remain the same or can we expect some noticeable changes (especially on the partitioning tool and the packages selection options)?

am I bothering you with all this questions (because i still have a few more !)?

see ya and thanks for your kind answers

It will not be based in UL, some things can be used, others don't ...

No.

It will be called cl9, you can notice that wasn't used the name cl8.0 before ...

We think linuxconf is friendly, if you have sugestions about how could it be, please send then to us. The proper place to post any bugs or sugestions about conectiva packages is:
http://bugzilla.conectiva.com.br/

The instalation tool (MI) has changed considerably, but almost every change was to turn it into a most stable version. One considerably change will be the support to multiple disks.
