Qt... configure: error

Qt (>= Qt 3.0.3) (library qt-mt) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.
Make sure that you have compiled Qt with thread support!

what i do have

[root@inferna keuphoria-0.1.1]# rpm -qa | grep qt-mt
[root@inferna keuphoria-0.1.1]# rpm -qa | grep qt2-mt
qt2-mt-2.3.2-5U8_1cl
[root@inferna keuphoria-0.1.1]#

i looked for a qt-mt package for qt3 in conectiva's update repository as well as in the snapshot repository but there doesn't seem tobe one

could you please tell wich one is the package that i need?

thanks

Don't worry, take your time , I'm really glad someone cares about translating the material. I asked only for curiosity, don't need to rush .

yep i do care
that perguntas & respostas is an excellent source for resources on how to do things for all of us who still don know how to and i'd like to see it available in spanish so i can tell people: go check that faq out, i'm sure you'll find a solution to your problem if you use conectiva

why going with a distro that doesn't have support for you in your own language?
why supporting those who do not support you?

i still don't get it...
i guess the day we realize why, we'll be able to grow into the comunnity we should've a grown a long time ago...

uuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggghhhhhhh !

i did update qt3 from the snapshot but after that kde (3.0.3) did not work any more

so i had to remove it completely (using apt-get from the command line because kde wouldn't start) and installed it again from the conctiva cd !

was that because i updated qt3?

one thing to notice was that after updating qt3, all of the apps from kdemenu/system wouldn't work anymore so i logged out of kde and then tried to log in again but it was impossible. My screen blinked three or four times and then a login propmt showed up. I logged as root and try a startx, X started but kde didn't and there was no way to get to work so i had to uninstall that new qt3 and with it went every kde package.

was that supposed to happen?

see ya

Hi caleb,

The kde and qt packages should always walk together, because kde use qt all the time, so this problem could happen if some functions that a version of kde do not exist in an earlier version of qt or changed the name ...

I should have guessed that earlier ... but you can download the snapshot version of kde, and then use the new version of qt ...

When I begin to use KDE3/qt3 from upgrade ( not from snap-shot
because I can not crash my installation )
I had to add the following in begining of /etc/profile
to kde3 work fine (afte a reboot );

# BEGIN INSERT =============================
# KDE base dir
export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt3
export KDEDIR=/usr/lib/kde3

# Added KDE binaries path to main PATH
export PATH=$PATH:$KDEDIR/bin:$QTDIR/bin

# END INSERT ======================
