Wink giving back to the community

we all know that BUYING the product is probably the best way to give back to those who have given you as much as conectiva has given to me.
I mean, a whole new OS free of licenses, full of text with support, the kind response that i had from some of the people that actually works at Conectiva, the manuals, etc, etc... That's a lot of work that some people has done and i have yet to give something back given the fact that i can not buy the product because it's not availabe for sale over here

So i was thinking, is this (amaizingly comprehensive, easy to undertand, useful, and well put toghether piece of work) translated into spanish (Argentina only :P)?

http://www.conectiva.com.br/cpub/pt/...erespostas.php

because if it's not, i could start translating it (even though it'll take long time indeed since those are 655 files...) and i would be glad to do it

If it's not, is there a Conectiva's Translators department i should contact before getting into it or something?

see ya

Hi caleb,

About linux documentation in spanish, there's a project you should give a look in:

http://lucas.hispalinux.es/

or to contact the conectiva suport team, because they have a lot of tip's based in direct suport to user, that are in portuguese in:

http://www.conectiva.com.br/cpub/pt/...va/suporte/pr/

that could be translated to spanish...

I think were a spanish base a long time ago, but was obsoleted by the new versions ...

WOW !
are you the maintainer?
well let me tell you that that faq is simply excellent !!!
it has answers to almost every question about how to configure or do something !

as a matter of fact, that faq is so good, that i want to translate it into spanish (argentina..) so i can tell people: go get conectiva (thing that i've alredy been doing for some time now) and in case you have any doubt or want to know how to do something, just check on Conectiva's preguntas_e_respostas and you'll find the solutions for every problem you may come across.

i didn't know you worked at Conectiva
i thought only tulio and riel worked there
Congratulations

now about your spanish, forget it, you alredy know how to speak english very well !
but if you ever need help with your spanish, just let me know and i'll be glad to help you

now, regarding the perguntas_e_respostas package: yes, i would pretty much like to have the latest version along with whatever it is that you have alredy done to translate it into spanish.

i don't know, maybe you can tell me what is it that you need me to translate first, or if there are some especific files that need to be translated ASAP or just: translate everything from scratch :P

but before sending me the file, please let me know how big is it (MB) 'cause my pop3 account only has a 3 MB storage space, so shall the file be larger, it may bounce back to you

in that case, i'll think in a way (a pub ftp or a friend's email address so then he can send it to me via icq) for you to send me the file.

see ya and thanks for your help (yet once more!)
