On a recent interview, Gaël Duval founder of Mandrake Linux, and co-founder of Mandrakesoft stated:
"...KDE and GNOME now comes with a Mandrake look - "MandrakeGalaxy" - which has been designed in cooperation with Everaldo Coelho, the designer of the KDE Crystal theme. He also worked with us on a new set of icons..." (

I can not say I wasn't shocked by that....
To be honest, i thought that Conectiva would try to keep Everaldo for themselves, given the fact that he is indeed one of the really few talented "desktop designers" (or so to speak) around...
Now, it's Conectiva gonna come up with a new look & feel of their own?
I mean:
Red-Hat came up with the controverted "bluecurve" (yeah, yeah, i know Bluecurve is not just a windec or a theme style), now MDK is coming up with "Mandrake Galaxy" and by the recent SuSE office pictures I have been able to see I can tell they're coming up with a custom look & feel of their own too (probably provided by Tackat, who is other of the most talented "desktop designers" around and is working for SuSE) . Needles to say that other "not so big distros" have gone the same way, even though they did it mostly trying to emulate some other OSs.
What can we expect for CL9?
