As I've said many times before, it's the members that make what it is. The time and dedication that many members put in is significant. As a thank you, I'd like to announce we're testing a new advertising policy here at LQ. First, We've removed some ads for all logged in members who have at least one post. Depending on your screen resolution, you'll see no ads above the scroll and only two ads on most pages. For members with over 500 posts, you'll see nearly no ads at all. This is our way of thanking you for the time and effort you put into contributing to the site. Visit for more information or to discuss the new policy.

The LQ Wiki is a collaboratively built knowledge base for all things Linux and Open Source related. A Wiki is a type of website that allows anyone to easily add, remove, and edit the content. That means you can contribute. Does your favorite project have a page? Is the information on your most used applications updated and correct? Do you have a great tip to share? If so, visit and share your knowledge.

Did you know you can save $3 off any domain name registration and help support Visit and use LQ3 as a discount code.
