no auth sufficient pam_ldap.so in my /etc/pam.d/system-auth file


hi guys,

watching some RHCSA training videos,but using Centos 7 to practice etc.

on a module of setting up ldap i was following instruction,but it looks different to what i have on my Centos 7 machine,is this just one of the slight differences between a true Red Hat server and a centos server?

there is no
no auth sufficient pam_ldap.so in my /etc/pam.d/system-auth file
like in the video

or am i missing the point here?

Well, on Gentoo, pam_ldap is a separate package that has to be installed (along with nss_ldap) before anything may show up in the PAM configs regarding LDAP.

Are you sure pam_ldap installed?

installed the packages you recommended 1 was already installed

still no ldap option

anything else you can think of?

after running authconfig-tui and selecting ldap i then saw the entry in the /etc/pam.d/system-auth file
