Calculate Linux Desktop 9.9 i686/x86_64 released
Calculate Linux Desktop ( CLD) is a free operating sistem based on Gentoo Linux for your PC or notebook. With Calculate Linux Desktop you can surf the web, manage mail or photos, do your office work, watch TV or listen to the music. Supported on the local network with Windows machines. If the domain controller serves Calculate Directory Server, Windows and Linux users will use shared resources.
Features:- It can be desegregated with 'Calculate Directory Server' and allows to get a centralized authorization, abbility to storage the desktop settings on the server and centralized configuration for additions.
- User-friendly desktop.
- 100% compatible with Gentoo.
- Ability to work from livecd with full booting into the memory.
- Support of following languages: English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish and French.
- Support of installation on HDD, USB-Flash and USB-HDD with the following file systems: ext4, ext3, ext2, reiserfs, xfs and jfs.
Changes from release 9.9- Starting with this version of Calculate Linux Desktop (KDE and XFCE), compiled on the basis Calculate Linux Scratch, respectively are available all of the improvements project CLS: support interactive assembly systems, the use of aufs2.
- In CLD replaced by the following programs: client IRC - Xchat on Konversation, vocabulary GStarDict on GoldenDict. Added: Partitionmanager (KDE Partition Manager). By default, now uses the browser Firefox.
- In CLDX added Compiz. By analogy with CLD distribution includes the kernel sources, Portage, proprietary drivers nvidia. Added the following programs: gnome-ppp, fusesmb, xfce4-taskmanager, xfce4-power-manager, thunar-volman.
- Optimization of system performance due to: build flags, add prelink in cron, the use of preload, the transition to kernel 2.6.30 and KDE 4.3, the package kernel and initrd lzma archives.
- New tool cl-unmask to unmask packages.
Software versions:- CLD 9.9: X.Org 7.4, Kernel 2.6.30.5, Firefox 3.5.3, KDE 4.3.1, OpenOffice 3.1.1, Calculate-client 2.1.6
- CLDX 9.9: X.Org 7.4, Kernel 2.6.30.5, Firefox 3.5.3, XFCE 4.6.1, OpenOffice 3.1.1, Calculate-client 2.1.7
CLD 9.9: i686 - 1.67 GB, x86_64 - 1.76 GB
CLDX 9.9: i686 - 0.99 GB, x86_64 - 1.12 GB
Update from previous versions:
For update from Version <=9.7: - Update Calculate installer to version 1.2.9 using the manual http://www.calculate-linux.org/Trans...Overlay_on_GIT
- Install sys-fs/squashfs-tools "emerge -C sys-fs/calculate-squashfs && emerge sys-fs/squashfs-tools".

I installed it and updated it to KDE 4.3.2.

Hello every body
I am using suse 64bit v 11.1 on AMD phenom and gigabyte mb
I am facing some problems with the realtek sound system and upon live update; I am facing problems in booting in graphic mode
I was planing to switch to ubunto, but I am now wondering about this CLD or CLDX
any advice?

Sound should work if you have support in kernel. You need to try.
CLD and CLDX are a LiveDVD. You can get iso and test them.
I'm sure you are like it.
