FreeBSD: How to install Fluxbox? [Solved]

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I'm trying to install fluxbox on freeBSD. I found a site that told me how to it says to add exec fluxbox to the end of .xinitrc but I can't find it. If I remember correctly it's in the home directory but it's not there.

I take it you already have Fluxbox compiled? Did you do it through ports or just source-code compile (./configure && make && make install)?

Okay - re-reading your post, do the following:
Code:
$ touch ~/.xinitrc
$ echo 'exec fluxbox &' >> ~/.xinitrc
Then, to launch X, run:
Code:
$ xinit

Ok, I got it working but i had to remove the & from 'exec fluxbox'. So do no longer need startx because xinit is alot faster. When I do startx I get some errors.
Code:
xauth: (argv):1: bad display name "gNguyen:0" in "list" command
also in "remove" command

Add you hostname + hostname.domain in /etc/hosts:
Code:
::1                     localhost host host.domain.com
127.0.0.1               localhost host host.domain.com
10.0.0.107              localhost host host.domain.com
Then generate xorg.conf:
Code:
# X -configure
# mv /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf
# exit
% xinit
