If my Children were pre school to 6th grade OLPC OS Would be a great
secure tool. Years ago gathering old laptops locally and installing the system on them then giving them to local students. was a cool project. Children learning to code at 8 years old and writing music even earlier. Wonder why parts of this are not ported to android Sugar On A Stick is pretty much OLPC |
I have a couple legacy PCs set up for my 5-year old girls, but most of those distros in that article are old and unsupported, and I personally prefer something up-to-date and supported, and since I maintain the machine for them, I'm very happy using Bodhi.
If you're looking for kid-friendly apps and games to install on debian/ubuntu distros, there are tons available from "debian junior" described here: https://blends.debian.org/junior/tasks/ Another source of games I've found useful are console roms, my old PCs emulate gba and snes games perfectly (and psx games marginally). |
sorry did not know that - i just saw the article and posted it. maybe from now on i will let it be and remain silent on these issues.

If I offended you or implied your link wasn't useful, I'm sorry. I was interested in your post and read the article too. I was just stating my opinion for arguments sake, any opinion is valid, thanks for posting.
