min-max-x buttons to left?

How do I move the buttons back over to the left at the top of each window?

by editing the apps > metacity > general > button_layout key

Arrangement of buttons on the titlebar. The value should be a string, such as "menu:minimize, maximize, spacer, close"; the colon separates the left corner of the window from the right corner, and the button names are comma-separated. Duplicate buttons are not allowed. Unknown button names are silently ignored so that buttons can be added in future metacity versions without breaking older versions. A special spacer tag can be used to insert some space between two adjacent buttons.
So change from
Code:

menu:minimize,maximize,close
to
Code:

close,maximize,minimize:menu

Jumped the gun a little bit here. Bodhi uses the Enlightenment desktop - the only way to change the position of the window buttons in E is to edit your current theme

Yeah, I just looked at his signature that said ubuntu-10.10.
I never even looked that it was posted in the bodhi forum.

Guess I should update my signature :).

I've been trying to edit my theme, but the only thing that seems possible is to import an existing one. Is there an easy way to switch the buttons over? I have to say, the Gnome way works great.

Unfortunately you need to decompile the theme and edit the scripting it uses for button placement. If you are up for the task grab the .edj file of the theme you wish to edit and decompile it using

Code:

edje_decc mytheme.edj
