ACPI
Bodhi will run on one of my old laptops...an IBM A20p but it won't shutdown..The dev needs to add acpi to the system since he says its good for older computers (which it is) Just an observation.
Not too bad for beta...will look for a final release soon. |
Both acpid and acpi-support packages are installed on the system by default. What package are you referring to?
Also, this is a release candidate - not a beta (our beta was some months ago). ~Jeff |

I just assumed it had something to do with acpi? I don't really know (obviously) Can you help me Jeff? There are very few distros I can successfully use on this particular laptop for reasons unknown....Puppy 2.14x, Bodhi, antix and Astrumi all run pretty good but Astrumi has no wifi and the language thing is beyond me, antix has too much and classic puppy 2.14x is pretty good but has issues with it restarting on its own for some reason....Newer puppys don't see the hd for some reason?? Weird huh? So, Bodi runs pretty damn good on it but it won't shut down all the way without me having to press the power button for a few seconds to fully shut down the display. Otherwise it gets the seal of approval by me. BTW, this laptop uses 1440x1050 resolution so that alone kills many of the lightweight distros off because of x issues. Thats about it in a nutshell......PS I started the Bodhi in failsafe to get the resolution issue correct. Thanks.. |
Do you have any applications running when you try to shut down? How about opening a terminal and running
Code:
sudo shutdown now~Jeff |
