I spent many hours building a system for a professor of music at the U of I Ilinois. the Fedora distro is the one that planet ccrma uses for there repo. and they build all the very nice multimedia aps with the core.
I come to the conclusion that the big IBM. the one that got Bill Gates going has really put a hold on the FC.
I still do not understand why Stanford would use a system to build all the cool development music multimedia stuff on a distro that refuses to allow you to play a simple mpeg file.
They do have many links to there sites that will charge you for a simple key to allow the xine family programs to play it.
Oh will good thing is I just rebuilt the core from the ground up with lot of tar balls then used there slow yum system the people are happy I am happy but hey guys lets get with it fedora is a real bag of bugs.
kde 4 desktop has some real issues.
I do find that fc8 is stable 9 has issues but there on 10. slow down.
Get it stable.
Going biking.
