I'm starting a new programming project. Most of my projects are always a work in progress .I've got a bunch i'm stuck on.A game, a diagnostics program, some electronic circuits I've had on the drawing board for years. This is a program about work in progress. I sort of got into a flame about how some people go around the web telling people their ideas won't work. Sometimes this is a good thing except when the only obstacle to completing the idea is motivation. If you don't want to help ,don't help. A work in progress is about progress .There should be a site where negative comments are not allowed .If no one knows how to complete the idea it just doesn't grow. Socialization plays a major part in this. I realize I probably do the same thing .If I do I'm sorry. I feel judgement is the difference between instruction and hypocracy. Anyway,I love building things on the web . And if you do too, let's get to it and come up with some great ideas and build some cool stuff . And have a great time doing it together .

I'm bored so I thought I would blog something.I hope people didn't think I was harsh with hackaday.I was just hoping that my idea would take off ,since I'm not able to complete it.I'm just a hobbyist ,I have hardly any work experience with either hardware or software.I was thinking about something I said in my last entry .About the operating system on a cell phone.I remember in the movie hackers III about Kevin Mitnik .He got a code to punch in to a cellphone to turn it into a scanner.Could you imagine what you could do with the source code to the entire operating system?I was thinking and I'm not sure if many of my ideas would be possible. Some of them would depend on hardware.I can think of like 20 things you might be able to do that you can't now.I'll let you use your own imagination on that subject.I'm frikken bored and if nobody replies these are all suitable topics for general discussion.which reminds me.How does someone miss the forums link ,but somehow find the elusive "new blog entry" link?I am using the blog correectly ,aren't I.
I can't think of anything to program or I would code something in C.I wrote an interesting encryption program a while back but I lost it on a bad hard drive.you take file and a password .Then your program reads your file one character at a time and exors it with a character in you password ,looping through both until EOF.This scrambles your file.Repeating the same process reverses the encryption.
If you've made it this far through my blog then I will tell about a windows program I got the other day.Phonetray free edition ,or something like that.It is a caller ID program.I didn't know my winmodem would do caller ID ,but apparently it does. The program has this "zap" feature. So I had these bill collectors calling me every day. After a while I quit answering the phone.Yeah financial responsibility ,blah blah blah. This caller ID program picks up the phone number of the caller .I set the program to zap this particular number.so it answers the call and plays a disconnected message, threee beeps then "we're sorry ,this number has been disconnected".I haven't had a problem with that company since ROFLMAO.

If your reading this from hackaday it's because I submitted my idea 2 days ago the link to my idea is in my last entry. You know I hope I'm not becomoing one of my weird uncles.I KEEP TELLING PEOPLE MY IDEA AND NOBODY RESPONDS.Come on guys is this a good idea or am I just strange enough to think it is.I don't want a camera staring through the windows to my soul do you?If you don't follow how this works let me elaborate .Each sensor is activated by the presence of your pupil .At least in my version there is no analog readings only on/off whenever the pupil reflects the beam.Think popup menus or the operating system on cell phones.Yeah it's lacking the proper display but how long until that comes out?My prototype did not use modulation like your remote controls so ambient light prevented it from working.I was working on modulating the signal but never got that part to work so I quit. Here was original plan.I sort of got it from pirates of silicon valley.Get this thing working where it used a usb plug and it could be detected as a mouse.I was going to use a microchip microcontroler for the usb interface. Then I was going to get my modulator detector section working so You didn't have to block the ambient light. That way you could see where your going. Then I would have tyhis finished circuit that would just be an insert I could put in any glasses attached to a small circuit and a usb cord .Then I would walk into a bank all smooth and ask them if I could demonstratre my device.I would move the mouse around the screen a while and then give him a try because you can switch users with little adjustment. Then maybe I could afford a patent lawyer.Maybe I should have just used my prototype even though it blocked your eyesight and hooked it to the ps/2 mouse simulator I built using a 16f628a microcontroller then hooked it to my laptop .You can even follow some of my threads at www.electro-tech-online.com to see the process or better yet if your interested ask me some questions.Anyway that's all for now.

It's so simple ,and cheap.Maybe some day I will build a working circuit with some help.
If I knew it was such a great program I would have voted for it .
But Gimp is pretty great too .
Blender and Gimp go together like ,um ,two things that go together.
Anyway , if you have time to waste ,try blender.
I even found some video tutorials for it!
Just thought I would blog this instead of ranting about it in general.:-)

I have a lot of unfinished projects lately .
I usually start a project out of neccesity ,but sometimes just because I get a good idea.
I recently finished a text version of "Clue" the game just to show my daughter I could.
My last project involving a parallel port logic analyzer turned out to be more trouble than I thought.
At least I am learning .
My unfinished game was started about 5 years ago and has been put on hold for now.
It is harder to learn by trial and error than by question and answer.
I eventually return to most of my projects.
That is why a new project usually leads to new questions.
I also have an electronics project that I have been working on for years.
Electronics is different than programming though (duh).
My electronics project is not a completely original idea but an original design.
I just know someone else will come out with it soon.
I can't afford an oscilloscope right now .
I'm working on an analog portion of the circuit so my logic analyzer won't work.
Xoscope doesn't handle high frequencies so it won't work either.
Soon it will be finished muahahaha ,muahahaha ,muahahaha,ha.

The electronics hobby seems to have died down since everything became disposable.I have built the LIRC and NOPPP .I recently installed Ktechlab 0.3 .I am a novice to PIC programming and assembly code, but I was able to simulate a working PIC circuit in a few minutes.PICs have been around for what?Ten years or so?They don't seem to be disapearing .
I would like to see the success of open source hardware and open source PIC software.I have a good electronic circuit, really part of a circuit. But I am worried about about someone trying to patent it themself if I show someone how it works. We need a license like the GNU software license.I am not sure if I need a patent but after researching how to get a patent I have found it impossible to get one myself .How ironic I spent yesterday ,Benjamin Franklin's 300th birthday ,finding this out.You have to either be a lawyer or pay one thousands of dollars to get your patent. It's no wonder only big corporations get all of them anymore.Anyway, hope to be swapping schematics and assembly code soon.:-)

Just needed to vent some stuff.
Why is there no date on these blog entries ?where is the beginning and where is the end?
The internet will end in 2006 a guy said so 2 years ago on slashdot.
Microsoft security is a matter of national security.
Bill Gates isn't a bad guy .
Windows is like training wheels for linux.
Anyone see the movie Pirates of silicon valley?
Is posting a screenshot of a movie a violation of copyright?
If we get more newbs like me maybe manufacturers will start making open source drivers.
How about a "last word rule" so the thread starter has to have the last post ?
Don't believe what people say about fans.
A 120mm fan is not quieter than an 80mm .
Mine sounds like a microwave.
Sorry for taking up space .
I'm just a wana be computer nerd with no talent.
O.K. looks good to me I'm posting.
