SourceForge "removes" ban set at 25.01.2010

It seems like yesterday SF.net decided to give up with forced ban(more: SF blog, my post) of Syria, Iran, Sudan, North Korea and Cuba, and now they provide users with option "Export Control", allowing to opt in or opt out for ban.
By default, all projects have that ban enabled.

But you know, the way it's done... The way it was done initially can only point me to "Prepare for unforeseen consequences" (C) G-Man, Half-Life 2 Episode 2.
It somehow reminds me of this as well.
No, I won't go back. After what I've seen, no. Not ever.
