I was reading a hilarious blog, written in Greek though http://www.dotnetzone.gr/cs/blogs/zaxarias/archive/2006/10.aspx about a software developer working on the .net framework and being pressured all the time by his 40 managers (and the only software developer in the company) for project's deadlines and overall I found my self laughing pretty hard till they hired a young graduate where he was listening to death metal thinking that only Lisp is the best language and screaming Linux Rulez!

hehe what I'm asking my self is how I acted and if is this the image I, as a linux user and the others are giving to the rest people. I mean are we all the time, here we have gimp instead of photoshop, vlc instead of windows media player, mono instead of .net ,blah blah blah. But we should act like here: we have gimp for image editing, Mono as an excellent framework etc. We should not be trying to pursuade others that Linux is trying to reach windows but to convince them that there are not only alternatives but better and more innovating apps out there.

Anyway just a thought that I should, too , stop acting like a mad, drug affected football hooligan.

Some people don't actually understand that everyone here uses their spare time and not actually paid. I have seen double posts around saying "HEY!!! nobody here knows nothing for this?Come on 19 reads people, DO something! Help me plix plox!"

What can you think of that person that is posting this and are you really going to give your time for him/her?

Maybe if someone wanted a 6hr call to repair support or 2hr response should make a contract with a company that sells this kind of support. Here, we are all people giving our spare time because we like linux and feel a part of this community, nobody's paid...

So, what if someone never replied? maybe the ones that knew of ex. networking were at their jobs or not online. Maybe you didn't post enough info, or even most commonly you didn't search enough for the answer that is already at the forums or at a tutorial maybe.

Next time please people.. think of all the possibilities and then CLAIM for your support.

I think in a blog you don't ask for help, that's the main reason this site dedicated more than 70% in forums.
Anyways...

Working in customer support is the same as living in a psychiatric clinic.
When I think of people that called and asked all the stoopid things in the world I just imagine
myself trying to kill 'em with different ways.
But ok, I know not everyone can handle easy a pc. But there are ppl out there(just like aliens)
that they do know something. Ofcourse in their lives they don't have anything to do, like family or hobbies and live to use a phone only!

And because of my experience and other ppl from customer support I really stopped to pursuing ppl into linux but only helping them if they seem interested. When someone doesn't know how to use windows and want's it too cook his food how easy will <b>'understand'</b> linux? Not easy at all.

Just some time ago a lady called and started screaming that her backpain's reason is the laptop's trial antivirus msg that said it will expire and it's dangerous to use it.
How can?..someone?..even think of that????

goddamit!...(phone rings)
