Since I installed Ubuntu 9.04, I haven't tested my firewall at "Shields Up".You have probably heard about it or even used it! If not, it's quite simple to use. Just go to the above link, let the page load. It will tell you who your isp is. just go down the page a little, you will see a "proceed" button. Click it! Another page loads with some info etc, and you will notice a row of grey buttons. The middle button is what we are looking for, it says "All Service Ports"....
I haven't touched my motorcycle rebuild job since I hurt my back a while ago! But I keep looking at the poor thing just stood there all alone in the corner of the garage. Well; I aquired the Linux format DVD (from a friend), with Ubuntu 9.04 and Mandriva 2009.1 as well as quite a few applications on the DVD (all applications are in tgz format though).
I decided after a day or so, seeing as I have a disk image of my Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex, I would do an upgrade. I have nothing to lose,time on my hands, and I'm interested to see what happens, as I have quite a lot of programs on this computer.
I have been tiling the kitchen; all day, and after a shower I thought I would sit at the computer for awhile ... surf the net then watch a DVD, because I've no energy left ... drained, just a husk, you could knock me down with a tea bag!
