I am impressed with Ubuntu! I have just set up the audio input to my Mikomi Webcam, tested the microphone with "Sound Recorder", and it works perfectly. So thats it, it's up and running ready to chat with family in America and elsewhere!

I posted earlier that the frame round Firefox had disappeared. It's very strange because it hasn't happened with Nautilus or any other application window? A very strange thing has just happened! I have lost the border round Firefox? It's not in full screen mode either. The only thing I did last night was, I installed Kmess, which is for my hotmail contacts. I am using Gnome desktop and Kmess is for KDE I know the apps should work OK but it is the only thing I have done. I will remove Kmess and see what happens.

The only other thing is the fact that this version of Ubuntu Ibex has KDE installed, because the DVD came with Linux Format...

I have a cheap webcam I bought last year! it's a Mikomi 1.3mp webcam with mic.When I type "lsusb" I get this "0c45:612c Microdia PC Camera (SN9C110)". It won't work with Kopete, but it will work with Ekiga?.
