pdf download

It may not be news to a lot of people, you may already have it, but I added "pdf download" to firefox! I like it. For instance, in the past if I saw some info on a web page, I used to either write it down or copy and paste. Then more than likely I would lose it. Pdf download puts an icon in the top right hand of firefox and it's just a matter of clicking the icon, and the web page will be converted to pdf and downloaded for you. I find this very handy for saving my blogs in case I lose...

Well; Mint did not stay on my old desktop for long I'm afraid. It just wouldn't run right on this computer. It's strange because you expect later versions to get better. I think the "Celena" version was the best I have tried on this computer. Maybe it's just this old desktop that is the problem? I could try it on my laptop but that has Ubuntu on and is set up just nice, so I'm not touching that!

The main problem with this version of Mint is the memory, or so it seems to...

Just got last months Linux-Format Magazines DVD. The disk itself is something called an "Eco Disk". It uses fewer materials to manufacture it, takes less energy to manufacture, and is tougher and more flexible, and less prone to warp. It's very thin and at first I wondered if there was a disk in the cardboard sleeve?

There are three distributions on this DVD. Linux Mint 7, Ulteo 1.0 (from the man who created Mandrake), and OpenSolaris 2009.06

I have a DVD disc that I wanted to watch on my computer, but it won't! Anyway, it's mine I bought it so I decided to try K9copy which if it worked, will create a 4.7 gb backup copy.

K9copy comes with a wizard, so I found this pretty straight forward, it dealt with the compression for me. I sat there for a few minutes just to make sure it had started to do something. It has a preview window so I could see the DVD playing albeit somewhat jerky. It said it was going to take 1 hour 30 minutes,...
