Half-way there

I dont know what I did, but I think I'm half way there. Okay, half is not all the way, but it's a start.

But...as pointed out, it's a workload, a big one. Now, just now, I turned the PC in question off, had been lit since friday morning (had a day of...) and now, I've got...barely a command prompt.

The trick is not to lose track of the dependencies. After all, since a configure/make/make install is possible, quite a few requirements are met ... by the host system. Trick to use? Read up about the dependencies and install those as well. It seems to be the Slackware way, if I'm not mistaken...

If the thing can stand on its own two feet, the host system will not be there to meet the requirements...

I started on a bash script to automate stuff...but, since I never actually wrote bash scripts before, this'll be yet another challenge to meet.

So, what was the first thought of Linux again?

Just for fun

And, it's been fun. Non-productive fun, but just brute fun...so, where did the weekend go???
