Linux Community: A Change in Ideology

Greetings,

I'm not used to long speeches and long starts so I'll just hit it straight....

It's so nice that over the past few months (a year or two) the mindset/ideology of Linux users and the Linux community has undergone a drastic change and has taken a turn for the better. My next impression by Linux

Few days ago I've been into some C coding and again got impressed by how greatly linux is organised! Dependencies are written the clear way. The "./configure" script is a standard. The "Makefile" is a standard. and so on... they aren't strictly linux-related but I mostly work in Linux environment... I actually refer to UNIX standards I guess. It is so simple to create and redistribute own application using standard utils, making it easily-installable! I love this!

How to popularize Linux (or any hypothetical foss os) ?

After pondering , debating with great passion the issue of linux and why it doesn't achieve mainstream adoption , i personally came to the following points that would if adhered to increase the odds of popular success.

qt support for VNC

Boot from Network via PXE (Eng. Version)

--THE IDEA--


1. using root_fs for i386 we have made before to be able booted from network.
2. root_fs can be booted from Network with Boot From Network facility in BIOS.
3. We will use PXE Technology.

--UNDERSTANDING PXE--

PXE is ... you can read it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preboot...on_Environment.

There are several BIOS that have been supported by PXE,...
