Konqueror

KDE has been a much-beloved option for the Linux users. It looks neat, and the latest versions (I am using 4.9.0 in Ubuntu and 4.8.5 in Fedora lately) has showed a faster, cleaner and good-looking desktop environment. Konqueror, in my point of view, is one of the best parts of KDE.

Where are desktop icons stored in KDE4 Plasma?

After switching to KDE4 I was little confused with its new philosophy of Plasma containers and activities. As it looked interesting, I tried to find more information. Now, there are some nice posts showing how to use it, but I couldn't find the answer for a simple question: where the information about desktop icons is stored on a disk?

Just for the record, in KDE 4.4.5 it is in
'~/.kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc'

People that complain about KDE4

Curious... I wonder, what is it about KDE4 that people don't like? New tools? New lay out? Visually different? Resource Hog? QT4?

This is all akin to wanting Windows 7 (Aero) to function just like XP or its predecessors... sure, you may be able to make the gui and theme look and feel like the previous, but all the system tools are going to be updated.

As with all history of computing, when something significantly changes, it's going to take time for programs to adapt...
