My SLiM style and my Flux keys

This is my third post in the last half-hour. The best way to keep up is to get a feed reader and tell it to keep tabs on this blog's feed, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...r-450341/feed/ .

Although I have not the most creative nor artistic mind, I was able to create a good theme for SLiM, my new login manager. The configuration files for themes are very easy to modify ( plain text ) and this is what I have come up with:

Fluxbox/Openbox - calendar in menu

MOVED: added this to the fluxbox wiki as "Calendar Menu" updates may be posted here or there.

Here is a nifty thing to include a calendar printout in your fluxbox menu. It currently coded in bash and is very crude. The print out only looks best when your menu is left justified and the text is mono spaced. An optional fix for this may be to convert spaces to underscore (not yet implemented).

create a directory ~/.fluxbox/cal and place the attached script...

Fluxbox - Terminal Window PC Game Style

Warning. I tried this on my much older 32 bit laptop and it didn't respond that quickly to toggling the consoles. I'm guessing that long bit of code for the key command actually takes more processing than I thought.


OK I realized I could make xterm (any terminal?) act like the command console in a FPS game. So here are all the settings...
