Hello

Here's a script to prepare a Thunderbird Address Book LDIF export for gnokii --writephonebook to write to a Nokia Series 40. The usage is something like:

cat /tmp/TB.PAB.ldif \
  | prepare_ldif_for_gnokii.awk \
  1>/tmp/ldif.prepared \
  2>/tmp/prepare_ldif_for_gnokii.log
cat /tmp/ldif.prepared \
  | gnokii --writephonebook --overwrite --memory-type ME --ldif \
  2>/tmp/gnokii.stderr

Probably you've already been in this situation or will be sometime in your life. You want to get your digital life organized. No redundancies, just one solution to every problem.

That's what I'm in the process of doing and here's a list of the things I want to achieve:

Not forget any birthday any more
Have a central place for storage of all contact information
Be able to print out said contact information
Take advantage of the services in the cloud without losing that
