compiling greatest ffmpeg & using it

First install yasm-1.0.1.tar.gz in usual way.

For libx264 support
Get latest
Code:
git clone git://git.videolan.org/x264.git
You get x264 folder . You can compress & save that folder for backup .
Installing involves
Code:
cd x264;./configure;make;sudo make install;sudo ldconfig
extract ffmpeg & then run
Code:
 cd ffmpeg ;./configure  --enable-avfilter  --enable-avfilter-lavf --enable-vdpau --enable-bzlib --enable-libschroedinger --enable-libspeex --enable-zlib --disable-stripping --enable-runtime-cpudetect --enable-libopencore-amrnb  --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-version3  --enable-gpl --enable-postproc --enable-swscale --enable-pthreads --enable-x11grab --enable-libdc1394 --enable-libfaac  --enable-libgsm --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-libx264 --enable-libxvid --enable-nonfree ;time make;sudo make install
USAGE
Keep following options in mind while conversion to 3gp
Code:
 
(1)frame size(-s option)
(2)audio sampling rate (-ar 8000 only)
(3)audio bitrate (4.75k, 5.15k, 5.9k, 6.7k, 7.4k, 7.95k, 10.2k or 12.2k)
(4)channel (-ac 1 i.e only mono)
