Lenovo Thinkpad T420 Notebook PC
Today I received my new Lenovo Thinkpad T420, I will be installing Fedora 15 tomorrow and I will post everything that I find on how everything works and any recommendations. I may also be testing with other distributions (possibly Ubuntu and open SUSE). Any requests?
--Edit--
Laptop arrived and testing as much as I can.
First off it loads Fedora 15 x64 easily. Optimus Graphics do not auto switch and had trouble getting the drivers to take. Looks like nVidia will not support Optimus for Linux. Everything else works flawlessly.
Audio
Brightness hot keys
Card Reader
CPU
Fingerprint Reader
Hard drive (comes as a slim drive by default (320gb Toshiba) recommend ordering rails for standard size drive)
LAN
Memory (Upgraded to 8GB)
USB
Volume Control Buttons (except mute)
WiFi
System runs like a champ, fan is a bit louder than I would have liked but no deal breaker at all. System doesn't even appear to run hot. No messing with power management and I get about 3 hours life on the default battery.
---edit---
If running with the nVidia graphics driver Fedora 17 doesn't recognize the brightness control keys.
Adding a line to /etc/X11/xorg.conf into the [Section "Device"] and rebooting gets it working again.
