Why Linux rocks

Eyecandy, some might claim it useless; I say sure it is, but it sure is nice... Take an old PC : Athlon 1gHz, 320MB RAM, and a Radeon 9200SE, try running windows with eyecandy on it (Vista? no way; XP possible but quickly bloated). Now I take Linux, install compiz-fusion and fire away those nice effects... PC still as responsive as ever, GNOME still as nice (even nicer) and an overall wobbly experience.
