fedora ethernet failure.

no.....ifconfig -a shows l0 and pan0 and virbr0......but no eth0.....in fedora 8....the command lspci in /sbin shows the ethernet driver...but cant start the network service anyway...automatic ip or static ip i have tried both..but my desktop pc automatically recognised the same modem and network..but not my laptop hp 520 notebook..!!!
