I saw an article on the BBC News site this morning that I just have to pass comment on! This being the news that Microsoft is currently the UK top brand name. The criteria are:

Quality. Does the brand represent quality products and services?

I've been wanting to put together a smallish, inexpensive system that runs well enough to be usable for some light home user type stuff and to let me have a system I can mess with without fear of breaking the main family machine. Well, I put together a few bits and pieces and I think I've got a system that provides plenty of bang for the bucks I spent on it! I'm sure we've all seen comments in 'Is Linux ready for the desktop' type articles complaining about the command line... Of course, in reality, most current distros don't require users to go anywhere near the command line for pretty much any reason.
