That's taken from the dreaded Windows EULA. What kind of drivel is that? Probably the kind that encourages people to think of computers as appliances that should (Dare I say it!) just work... Well, it doesn't work that way for ANY computer system! OK so you might buy a PC from the same store you got your TV or fridge but it is not an appliance like those other items! It is a very sophisticated tool! Tools require knowledge...

A project worth watching!

While browsing some tech news sites, I happened upon a link to this project aiming to create an alernative to large manufacturers' nettop and netbook machines. Some of which are, frankly, a bit lacking in the fulfilling their potential department... I took them up on their invitation to complete a survey and indicated that I would be willing to help promote the project. So, here I am promoting! Have a look!

The revelation that Microsoft appear to have been providing misleading (To put it kindly...) training material to their retail partners, for use by customer facing staff seems to be a reasonably big story at the moment. See my previous post and probably any of your favourite tech sites for details...

Ten challenges to Windows users.

I just read a piece on /. about Microsoft offering a course to BestBuy (U.S. consumer electronics store.) employees that by all accounts amounts to anti Linux FUD! I feel an appropriate response would be to challenge Windows users to do some things I do without fear of repercussions and/or with relative ease, but on their platform of choice... Here goes!

1. Browse the internet with no anti virus running. Firewall optional.
