A chance to counter Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.

The revelation that Microsoft appear to have been providing misleading (To put it kindly...) training material to their retail partners, for use by customer facing staff seems to be a reasonably big story at the moment. See my previous post and probably any of your favourite tech sites for details...

Handled with care, this could well be a gift to those of us who try to promote the use of Linux. No publicity is bad publicity! The way I'm playing it is to make as many people as I can aware of news coverage of this, trying to keep my comments reasonable and then offering honest advice on the alternative! I hope Microsoft's ill advised marketing effort will backfire massively in our (the Linux Community's) favour.

One of the things I've done to expose this sorry saga is to email the BBC via the contact page on their news site suggesting they cover it as a tech story. It's worth a go and would really put the cat among the pigeons...
