Ubuntu Services Issue!

hello ,
I'm trying to Ubuntu for the first time and i'm pretty impressed by the OS. It has everything and more then what a normal desktop home suer requires.Hats off to the team behind the making of ubuntu project.I have one question regarding Ubuntu though, How do i turn off services in ubuntu or chk there run-level, like rh and fc counterparts had chkconfig, does ubuntu come with any such tool.Please Help . Thanks

workflow management and scheduling ,and filling system

I am looking for open source solutions for two types of office management problems that are:
1. Workflow management and scheduling system
2. Filling management system.


The workflow management and scheduling system should be able to track the progress of memos, letters, meetings, e.t.c. and provide the status of each item.

The filling management system should provide a way of arranging office documents for easier archiving and retrieval.

Darkstat - Nework Traffic Analyzer or Network Monitor

darkstat is a network statistics gatherer.

Effectively, it's a packet sniffer which runs as a background process on a cable/DSL router, gathers all sorts of useless but interesting statistics,and serves them over HTTP.
