I think it's logical to start with instalation issues. There were just a few of them, but still...
BTW, here is the step-by-step instalation guide.

A)Live CD
The first thing I did before installing Vector is downloaded and burned VL Live CD to make sure VL is what I need. After running Live CD without problems on my main box - Dell Latitude CPI A366XT(P2 366 MHZ, 128 MB RAM, 6 GB HDD).
But, when I tryed to run it on 3 other mashines, on two of them it has problems...

Telnet to Windows from *nix

Posted 08-12-2008 at 02:47 PM by grepmasterd

I've had varying results, but in some setups I've noticed that I cannot
invoke a usable telnet session to a windows telnet server (running
Microsoft's native telnet server). The return key doesn't work and the
characters I type are sent in chunks. I've mainly run into this behavior

Crash and Partial Recovery

Posted 08-12-2008 at 09:35 AM by MooseMagnet

Got hung up on the rsync command, until I remembered that the OPTION is NOT optional. This is still confusing to me.
Now, all seems fine, but the way the thumbnails display. Instead of a preview of the pic, it shows a blue box. I'll deal with this later....

List of BitTorrent clients Available in Linux

BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol used to distribute large amounts of data. The initial distributor of the complete file or collection acts as the first seed. Each peer that downloads the data also uploads it to other peers. Relative to standard internet hosting, this provides a significant reduction in the original distributor's hardware and bandwidth resource costs. It also provides redundancy against system problems and reduces dependence on the original distributor.
