Howto Change Default text editor in Debian Etch

By Default Debian Etch Provides the nano editor you need to follow this procedure.In this example i want to use vi editor as my default editor.This is Veryuseful if you want to change Default editor to your own choice.

How to mount or use Olympus W-10 in Ubuntu?

I have an Olympus W-10 Digital Voice Recorder. I want to hook it up in Ubuntu. In Windows it required its own software and never showed up as a flash drive even though it was connected via USB. I can't seem to mount it in Ubuntu. Please help.

Why RPM Repositorys are the Future of Linux

Most of the Programs I have installed that did not come with my Installation (I run Fedora Core 4, going to Upgrade to 7 when it is released :D) came from the Fedora Extras Repository. There I installed with out any problems. I installed Quake III Arena fine from a RPM, I bet it was because I had already installed all the dependencies because I installed Nexuiz, from the Fedora Extras repository using Yumex. Now I am trying to get Quake II. I am still dependencies Hell. So this is why I say RPM...

Getting Fedora to play mp3's in XMMS

When I starting using Linux I was confused by the fact that I could not play sounds in the mp3 format. I could play Wavs and Ogg Vorbis Files but not mp3. I found the answer to this question in a Book about Fedora Core 2. Red Hat and Fedora do not support the mp3 format because of patent issues. But there is a Simple way to add mp3 support back to one of the best multimedia players there is, XMMS.
